4 October — Carbon Management: Where the Puck is Going

Date: 04 October 2021
Time: 12:00pm ET
Location: Wean Hall 3701 & via Zoom
Speaker: Dr. Julio Friedmann
Topic: Carbon Management: Where the Puck is Going

Abstract: After 20 years of sturm & drang, carbon management has reached a point of broad inclusion into the climate solutions pool and received substantial policy support. It is worth examining the road to this point and the current status of carbon management in all its forms, including CCS, CO2 removal, and carbon-to-value. There remain many challenges to scaling and deployment of these options, including financing, infrastructure, public perception, and questions of environmental equity. Specific near term actions and policy decisions can provide greater clarity to investors, policy makers, and technology developers in this crucial decade.
