Ivonne Peña
I am from Bogotá, Colombia. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Universidad Javeriana in Colombia and a master’s in International Development from the University of Pittsburgh. I am part of the CMU-Portugal Program, in which I study both at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh and at the Technical University of Lisbon in Portugal. My doctoral research focuses on the policies that have incentivize wind power diffusion in Europe, and I study Portugal as a case study. My objective is to develop recommendations for policy makers in Portugal in order to attain the 2020 national wind goals in a cost-effective way. The research methods I use include econometrics, economics and power systems.
I am passionate about languages, writing, taking photos and the outdoors.
